When you arrive at Kaltstein Mines in the Loneberg region, a spirit outside will stop you from entering. Unfortunately, you can't enter this location until you've gotten the Double Jump, Glide, and Zipline abilities. After you get these abilities, you'll get the Key for the Kaltstein Mines and can now explore them.

How To Mine. Stand next to the ore and hold your interact key to charge up the Everlight. Be careful not to hold it too long, or it will fall behind Stella and you will have to wait for her to pick it back up.
