St. Elsewhere' building only a facade By PAT HILTON TRIBUNE MEDIA SERVICES I'm very fond of "St. Elsewhere," and I'm originally from Boston. Put the two together and you'll stand why I'm anxious to know whether the building shown as the hospital on the series is an actual building and, if so, where is it? Mrs. G.W., Utica, N.Y.
4 The building you refer to is an apartment house off Franklin Square in Boston. When the actors are shown in front of the hospital, you see a facade that's been created in Studio City, Calif. I' know Sylvester Stallone was supposed to star in "Beverly Hills Cop," but a friend told me that Mickey Rourke was also offered the part. Is that correct? Curious, Boston, Mass. Rourke confirms he was first choice for the part but doesn't believe it would have been a hit without Eddie Murphy as its star.
"When I read the script when I turned it down it was a serious movie. They ended up pulling a rabbit out of a hat with that one. He was the perfect guy to do it." He's terrific and seems to have come from nowhere.
