When you are not using a VCO square output and you have multiple outputs for other shapes that are in use - use the square wave output to rhythmically modulate other parts of the module or elsewhere in your rack.

You can expand on this by putting the square into a clock divider to get multiple related rhythmic elements.
I've also had fun using this sort of thing with 2 square VCOs and a logic module to get even more variety.

One of the reasons I love the Electroharmonix Clockworks, you can bring in (or create) and then divide clocks into various rates (including odd divisons) and change them on the fly easily with its sliders.

I need to check if the Pico RND can be clocked at (close to) audio rates. If yes, that with a clock divider can be a great way to drop a part of the pulses. Otherwise a Bernoulli gate could do the same.

From one of Voxmachina’s build videos: when installing a Davies knob, use a thin shim (like an x-acto blade, if you’re feeling dangerous) to lift the knob just off the nut before you tighten the set screw. This keeps the knob from binding up when you turn it. Worked on my current build; now to go back and re-install all my previous knobs. Whee!

After watching that I tried the tip of feeding the sub osc output of my Dixie II into the FM input and was very pleased with the results

Also tried feeding the subdiv out of my TipTop wave folder back into one of the CV inputs with some success (and a lot of just harsh noise)

I thoroughly enjoyed Divkid's video and happily paid for the pdf. I wish more people would do videos like these. Although I am working with synths for 25 years, hearing tricks other people use in order to achieve interesting results is something very refreshing. There are a few YouTube channels that favor this over selling hyper-specialized modules but I wouldn't mind seeing more.

Agreed, and so is some of the stuff Tom Churchill does.

X without Y by MW member RadioKoala is all about patching things you don't have with things you do! Today my small discovery was... - Page 91 (4)

X without Y is both an MW thread and a book sold by our favorite Electronic Marsupial

Treat utility modules as stars instead of backup singers.
Treat power supplies like Rockstars instead of roadies!
Chase magic sound, not magic parts.

Thanks for mentioning this. I had no idea it existed. The book looks super useful, I'll get it ASAP for sure.
